The challenge

Esports coverage is some of the hardest event photography there is. Stage lighting shifts colour constantly, the room is kept deliberately dark, and the most valuable moment — a player's reaction to winning — lasts under a second and never repeats. On top of that, the team must not disturb play.

How we approached it

   Used fast, wide-aperture lenses to hold the moment in low light without adding lighting that would distract players.
